Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the guardian of the MSC Malaysia’s Creative Multimedia Content Initiative, has helped Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd (“Les Copaque”), an MSC Malaysia Status Company involved in the development, production & management of animation-related Intellectual Property (“IP”), form a strategic alliance with Chinese-based Zhongnan Group Animation Video Co. Ltd. (“Zhongnan Group”) to co-produce a 90 mins 3D animation feature title “36 Strategem - Essential Art of War”. The deal with Zhongnan Group is valued at USD 7 million (RM 25 million).The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), earlier initiated in last week’s MIPTV Trade Show in Cannes, France, was signed between Les’ Copaque and Zhongnan Group, was witness by the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, China Central Television (CCTV) and MDeC which also led the recent Malaysian delegation to MIPTV 2007. The MoA Signing Ceremony was held in concurrent to the 3rd China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) held in Hangzhou, China.
